It All Started In A Garage!

Hugh & Sister Greta Working On Some Of The First Paddles In Their Parent’s Garage

Revolin’s story started in 2013 in Holland, Michigan, when Hugh found his love for pickleball in high school. He played often with friends in his neighborhood and often times created a “pickleball court” in the driveway with trash cans for a “net.” Paddles kept breaking with use and Hugh quickly became the neighborhood pickleball paddle repair guy.

Hugh decided he wanted to try his hand at making his own paddles after repairing so many. He enlisted the help of his sister, Greta, (who is an aspiring engineer) and together they created their first paddles from scraps in their parent’s garage. They kept tweaking their creations to be better and decided they wanted to test if more sustainable materials could be as successful as synthetic ones. They found out that high performance doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice sustainability.

In 2019, after years of experimentation and hundreds of prototypes, Hugh partnered with an innovative sporting equipment manufacturer and partnered with his best friend (now wife) Sophie, to lead marketing and sales efforts for the newfound venture. Together they made their first limited edition batch of paddles that sold out in less than two weeks!

Revolin didn’t stopped there. In March 2022, they moved out of the garage and into their own headquarters where they finish making their paddles and sell their latest series. Revolin has seen exponential growth in sales and their team since then. In May 2023, Revolin won the MCSB Smartzone Business Award!
