Do these kinsho stainless steel bento sets for work best as lunch boxes or snack containers?

Great question! Since they hold 2.25 or 3.25 cups depending on size, they are flexible for snacks for all ages or lunches for little ones at daycare, pre-school or kindergarten or older kids /teens /adults with smaller appetites.

What age can use these kinsho stainless steel bento boxes?

These bento lunch boxes are safety approved for age 3+. Any age, even adults, can used them if they need 2.25 or 3.25 cup volume of food.

How secure are the seals? Is this container set leak-proof?

This set is leak-proof due to the silcone seals in the lid that keep each compartment’s contents in their place. It is NOT recommended for liquids, soups, etc.

Is this steel lunch box difficult to open?

The two latches are designed to be easy to open for kids. The air release circle on the lid needs to be opened BEFORE the latches, and closed AFTER the latches, to create the air-tight seal. Kids love to do this but younger ones may need assistance.

WHAT FITS: This is a very SMALL bento. Please look carefully at the “What Fits” photo to understand the portion sizes for each compartment. The small sections hold the equivalent of one hard boiled egg and a couple mini tomatoes. The long section holds the equivalent of a hot dog and one cup of pasta and peas. All photos are actual children with real food.
HEAVY-DUTY Leakproof Container – Along with a sturdy spill-proof design and easy-open latches for small hands these bento boxes for small children’s lunches have an AIR RELEASE CIRCLE in the lid. Open this FIRST, before the lid and then close after the lid is shut for a secure seal. You will HEAR THE AIR releasing when opening and closing properly – this confirms it is air tight. The air release circle is a closed system and will DRAIN any water that enters from washing up, simply air dry with vent facing down.
REMOVABLE STEEL TRAY for easy clean up. Our Japanese grade SUS304 stainless steel tray is dishwasher safe and highly corrosion resistant . Easily wash the outer box and silicone seals BY HAND.
